Operation Spectre Rising begins today for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PS4

April 30, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Operation Spectre Rising for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 begins today on PS4 and brings with it tons of new content, including new game modes, new weapons, map updates and more.  Check out the new trailer below.

In multiplayer and Blackout modes, Operation Spectre Rising sees the return of Spectre, the covert assassin from Black Ops III.  Spectre returns with revamped stealth capabilities, smoke grenades and the Shadow Blade special issue weapon. When activated, this blade switches to third-person to provide a complete field of view of all nearby enemies. The blade also allows Spectre to roll and dodge incoming bullets and kill opponents with a single swipe.

A couple of new Game Modes are coming with the update, these are Prop Hunt  and the classic old Capture the Flag.  With Prop Hunt, players will choose a prop and blend in with the environment to avoid capture while the other team searches.  If any of you have ever watched Vanoss Gaming play GMod Prop Hunt then you know how much fun this can be.

In Blackout, the Wetworks map update has made multiple areas including Factory, Cargo Docks, Hijacked and the farm near Firing Range flooded by an explosion at Hydro Dam.  New loot and combat opportunities arise thanks to the flooded region and the house boats that have washed ashore.  Hijacked has also floated upstream allowing players on board to engage opponents at Construction Site.

More horror arrives with the latest gauntlet for “Dead of the Night”, Operation: Super Blood Wolf Moon.  In this gauntlet players will enjoy the “Pool Party” round then keep their wits about them as they survive the wolves during “Be-were”.  Later gauntlets will include the Labours of Hercules for “Ancient Evil” and Hard Mode Gauntlets, which will debut in Unsinkable for “Voyage of Despair”.
