Possible plot details for Jurassic World – new dinosaurs?

May 20, 2014 by Luke Owen

Get your pinch of salt at the ready, we’ve got some possible plot details for Jurassic World…

According to the ever reliable (sic) JoBlo, there is something big heading to Jurassic World – and it sounds like it’s a drastic change of pace from the previous three movies. Be warned, this could be spoiler-ry.

According to the rumour mill, Jurassic World will be a fully functional tourist attraction with a shuttle bus from Florida that takes visitors to the park. There they can view the dinosaurs and even go into petting zoos and interact with hologram presentations. This was teased with the promotional images released a little while back, but this is where things get odd.

The rumour also states that the park is looking for new ways to attract new visitors so they design new dinosaurs by combining dino-DNA with other dino-DNA as well as other species. This leads us to the “big bad” of the movie – a hybrid creation of a T-Rex, a Velociraptor, a cuttlefish and a snake. This new dinosaur would then run amok through the park and have terrifying abilities like camouflage, raptor intelligence, snake-like jaw and the T-Rex’s size.

If that didn’t whet your appetite enough, it looks like we may get a dino-war as Chris Pratt’s character “trains” T-Rexs and Velociraptors to be “good dinosaurs” to then go up against the “bad dinosaurs”.

As always, don’t take this as the stone cold truth – a pinch of salt is needed with this story. But, if it is true, what do we make of this new direction for the Jurassic Park franchise?

Jurassic World is written by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, and directed by Trevorrow. The cast includes Chris Pratt (The LEGO Movie), Vincent D’Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer), Ty Simpkins (Iron Man 3), Jake Johnson (Drinking Buddies), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past), David Oyelowo (The Butler), Judy Greer (The Descendants), Katie McGrath (Dracula), Lauren Lapkus (Orange Is the New Black), Andy Buckley (The Office) and the returning BD Wong.
