Quibi and Blumhouse team for Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue

July 2, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Short form streaming service Quibi has announced that it is teaming with Blumhouse Television for Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, a new scripted series from Alex Rider creator Anthony Horowitz.

The official synopsis for Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue reads:

When a small plane crashes into the Mexican jungle, nine complete strangers find themselves lost and alone in 500 square miles of rainforest. One by one, they’re targeted and they know that the murderer has to be among them. But who is it? And why do they have to die?

The new series marks the third collaboration between Quibi and Blumhouse after the upcoming Wolves and Villagers and Ten Weeks. Jason Blum will serve as executive producer alongside Horowitz, Jeremy Gold and Marci Wiseman.

Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is the second new project for Horowitz in recent days, the writer and producer having been tapped to write a six-part TV adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s The Phantom of the Opera for French production company Gaumont Television.
