Ahead of the Academy Awards, another type of “honours” were presented in Hollywood this Friday with the reveal of the 2025 Golden Raspberry Awards, which shine a spotlight on the worst of cinema from the previous twelve months.
Leading the pack this year as the target of the Golden Raspberry Foundation was Sony’s Dakota Johnson-led Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web, which received the Razzie Awards for Worst Picture, Worst Actress (Johnson) and Worst Screenplay.
Fellow comic book movie Joker: Folie à Deux was named Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel, along stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga as Worst Screen Combo, while Francis Ford Coppola received the “accolade” of Worst Director for his passion project Megalopolis, and posted the following acceptance speech to social media…
