Religious folk horror The Severed Sun gets a trailer and poster

Dark Star Pictures has released a poster and trailer for the British folk horror The Severed Sun.

Written and directed by Dean Puckett, the film centres on Magpie, a young woman who awakens a supernatural beast that terrorises her community after she kills her abusive husband.

The cast includes Emma Appleton, Toby Stephens, Barney Harris, Lewis Gribben, Oliver Maltman, and James Swanton. Watch the trailer below…

In an isolated religious community, Magpie kills her abusive husband, awakening a supernatural Beast. She becomes an outcast, and as the Beast unleashes bloody carnage, a brutal witch hunt begins, tearing the community apart.

The Severed Sun arrives in cinemas and on digital on May 16th.
