Retro Arcade Classics coming to Plug & Play

April 7, 2018 by Villordsutch

Back in the 1980’s if you wanted to play a real, honest to goodness, cutting-edge game you had to find either your nearest Amusement Arcade or a Greasy Spoon Cafe; for myself it was the latter.  These places were swarming with both adults & kids, pockets bursting with coins ready to take over at the continue screen or to smash their way up the high score table. However, with the console revolution seriously impacting on arcade play, gaming classics were doomed to be forgotten.  That or just be stuck in gaming purgatory, ported to numerous different platforms that used ‘joypads’, never again to be played the arcade way.

This however is all about to change as MSi and PQube have announced a new line in Plug & Play Retro Arcade Classics.  Included in this list is Double Dragon, Frogger, Space Invaders, Ms. Pac-Man and also joining this line-up is Mega Man 2.  It’s not just what’s inside the game unit that’s impressive either, as each gaming unit is emblazoned with officially licensed artwork, giving them a truly excellent look.

Play comes via the retro-inspired joystick along with fire buttons to match, these will happily take any gamers punishing play.  As with all Plug & Play units, you just plug in the AV cables directly into your TV and you’re away.

You can pre-order the Plug & Play Retro Arcade Classics now from FunstockRetro.co.uk and remember if you use the code FMYTH5 you get 5% off your final checkout total.
