Rey is filled with “internal struggle” as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker begins says Daisy Ridley

Daisy Ridley, the star of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, says that Rey is full with “internal struggle” as the movie begins.

We are now only a week away from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arriving in cinemas and there is so much to speculate about. Rey will clearly be key to events of the movie but where will the story find her as Episode IX begins?

Well, speaking in a recent interview (via ComicBook.com), actress Daisy Ridley has said that Rey is unsatisfied and troubled internally as the movie gets underway: “She’s been training and continuing this internal struggle; that has not gone away, it has intensified. She isn’t satisfied by what Kylo has told her. She’s struggling with that, so we meet her mid-training and then you see it play out more in real time, the struggles that she’s having and this drive that she has to reconcile the questions that she has.”

A large part of the struggle that Rey is dealing with is due to Kylo’s explanation about her parents, telling her that they were nobodies and it didn’t matter who they were. Will Rey find more satisfying answers in Episode IX? It’s not long until we find out.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker sees J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) directing a cast that includes Star Wars veterans Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix), Greg Grunberg (Snap Wexley), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) as well as new additions Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lost), and Keri Russell (The Americans).
