Ryan Gosling is a 6th grade science teacher launched into space in the Project Hail Mary trailer

June 30, 2025 by Matt Rodgers

Amazon MGM Studios has launched the first trailer for their Ryan Gosling-led science-fiction comedy Project Hail Mary, which stars the Oscar nominated Barbie actor as an unremarkable 6th grade science teacher who is launched into space on a mission to save humanity.

Directed by Academy Award winning filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street), and written by Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods), Project Hail Mary is based on The Martian author Andy Weir’s New York Times best-selling novel, and also stars Academy Award nominee Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall). Check out the poster and trailer below…

“11.9 Light-years from home. 6th grade science teacher. 1 chance to save us all.”

Project Hail Mary docks in cinemas and IMAX on March 20, 2026.
