Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy and Danny Woodburn join The Witcher season 4

April 6, 2024 by Gary Collinson

As Liam Hemsworth prepares to succeed Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt of Rivia, he’ll be joined by several other new faces as Netflix has announced that Sharlto Copley (Monkey Man), James Purefoy (Solomon Kane) and Danny Woodburn (Watchmen) have joined The Witcher for its upcoming fourth season.

Sharlto Copley joins the cast as the infamous bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, with Purefoy as Emhyr’s court advisor and high-ranking spy Skellen and Woodburn playing Zoltan, the fan favourite dwarf from the books and video games. They join fellow new addition Laurence Fishburne, who was cast in the role of Regis back in January, as well as returning stars Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg), Freya Allan (Ciri) and Joey Batey (Jaskier).

After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again.

Production on season four of The Witcher is set to get underway in the spring.
