Big Finish has announced that a brand-new audio drama serial for Sherlock Holmes will be arriving this October. The new Sherlock Holmes Untold will see Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s genius detective face new challenges and fierce adversaries.
The new Sherlock Holmes Untold will be a serialised audio drama consisting of eight half-hour episodes available as downloads every week starting Wednesday 1st October. After each episode, listeners will be able to tune in to the ‘after show’ discussion in the weekly Big Finish Podcast where a special panel of Sherlock Holmes devotees will discuss the episode and invite listeners to contribute their thoughts.
Sherlock Holmes Untold takes listeners to 1913 England, where Dr John Watson confronts embattled Prime Minister Jasper Cranfield with evidence of a crime spanning several decades. There’s the fate of a music hall murderer, a man driven to insanity by a worm unknown to science and a sinister society that gathers in a furniture warehouse.
How much does the Prime Minister know about this mystery and of the enigmatic organisation called “The Lighthouse”, and is Sherlock Holmes really retired? You’ll have to wait until October to find out.
This new series of Sherlock Holmes mysteries has been written by Jonathan Barnes and stars Nicholas Briggs as Holmes and Richard Earl as Watson. Joining them are Tim Bentinck as Mycroft, John Banks as Colonel Sebastian Moran and Inspector Lestrade, and Christopher Naylor as Prime Minister Jasper Cranfield.
Sherlock Holmes Untold is available to pre-order now from the Big Finish website for £24.99. Those who do will gain access to the weekly episode downloads, as well as the complete box set download to own.
