Earlier this week, it broke that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were to produce and possibly write an adaptation of the cult comic classic Preacher, with Breaking Bad series writer Sam Caitlin attached to pen the series.
Today, there have been reports that Preacher will in fact be developed by Sony Pictures Television, rather than AMC as was previously reported. However, AMC will broadcast the show within the US, with no word as to where it will be show internationally.
Creator Garth Ennis is reportedly very pleased with Goldberg and Rogen rumoured to have “finally captured the tone” of the comic. Numerous different adaptations have been in development over the years with James Marsden at one point attached to star in the lead role, and Sam Mendes (Skyfall), D.J. Caruso (Disturbia) and Rachel Talalay (Tank Girl) all passing through the director’s chair.
