Star studded Angry Birds voice cast announced

October 1, 2014 by Alfie Nobes

An announcement from Sony Pictures Entertainment today proved that the Angry Birds movie is well on its way to becoming a reality, as a number of comic stars are added to the cast.

Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses) is taking on the heroic leading role of Red, while Bill Hader (Superbad and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) will be bringing one of the unfortunate evil pig characters to life.  The fun doesn’t stop there as a number of actors including Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph and Josh Gad are all set to appear, not forgetting Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage playing the part of Mighty Eagle.

Angry Birds fever has already resulted in a wide array of games, spin-offs and an animated TV series.  However, the July 2016 release will prove once and for all whether Angry Birds can make it on the big screen, and with a Tetris film in works as well, there could be some stiff competition.
