Superhero fatigue will affect Marvel before it impacts audiences according to Kevin Feige

January 31, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Marvel chief Kevin Feige has said that superhero fatigue will impact Marvel itself before it does audiences.

Superhero movie saturation has been an often discussed topic for years now. The question has been asked if there are too many of these movies being made and if audiences will eventually grow tired of the genre.

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, doesn’t think so, not if the films continue to be different enough from each other. Speaking to Vulture, Feige said:

“For years, predating the history of Marvel Studios itself, people asked me about superhero fatigue and if it was a fad or a phase. I say, if they’re all different, if they’re all special, nobody will get tired of these things before we at Marvel Studios will, since we live and breathe these things 24 hours a day. You make films like Thor: Ragnarok, like Homecoming, like Guardians of the Galaxy, certainly like Black Panther, and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War to keep it interesting and change it up. And we will continue to do that.”

What do you think about Feige’s statement? Do you believe films in the MCU are different enough from each other to stave off superhero fatigue among fans?
