Superman & Lois casts Erik Valdez as Lana Lang’s husband

April 10, 2020 by Ricky Church

Just days after casting Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang, the CW’s Superman & Lois has cast Erik Valdez (Graceland) as Lana Lang’s husband, Kyle Cushing. Per Deadline, Valdez’s role will be that of a series regular.

Valdez’s Cushing is described as “Smallville’s fire chief and local hero who’s seen his fair share of tragedy. Small town raised with small town beliefs, Kyle doesn’t care much for the big city and often butts heads with people that come from it.”

Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will reprise their Arrowverse roles as Superman and Lois Lane with Jordan Elsass (Little Fires Everywhere) and Alexander Garfin (The Peanuts Movie) starring as their super sons Jonathan and Jordan Kent. Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck) will also star as Lois’ father General Sam Lane.

Superman & Lois has been written by Todd Helbing, a former showrunner on The Flash, and he’ll also executive produce with Arrowverse veteran Greg Berlanti and former DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. The series revolves around the world’s most famous superhero and comic books’ most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.
