Almost seven years on from the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars returns to the big screen this year, spearheaded by the small screen duo of The Mandalorian and Grogu, who follow up their hit Disney+ series with a feature film adventure from writer-director Jon Favreau and co-writer and new Lucasfilm chief Dave Filoni.
Plot details for the film are being kept tightly under wraps, and today’s Super Bowl TV spot doesn’t offer up any clues – although we do get to see Din Djarin and Din Grogu enjoying a Tauntaun ride in the snow; check it out below…
The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu features a cast that includes Pedro Pascal, as Din Djarin, Sigourney Weaver as Ward, Jonny Coyne as Imperial Warlord, Dave Filoni as Trapper Wolf, and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is set for release in cinemas on May 22nd 2026.
