Team GO Rocket has invaded Pokemon Go

July 27, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Remember at the end of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon when Giovanni said “What new world shall I unleash my evil schemes upon?”?  It looks like he’s chose our world as his next target as an organisation called Team GO Rocket have invaded the Poké Stops of Pokémon Go.  A new trailer announcing their arrival has been released and ends with the quote that confirms our suspicions.

Team GO Rocket has invaded PokéStops around our world and are using strange acting Shadow Pokémon to cause trouble.  Professor Willow and the team leaders have come up with a plan to restore the PokéStops and rescue the Shadow Pokémon, but they need player’s help.

Players will encounter Team GO Rocket members at discolored PokéStops as they are after the stops valuable resources.  Once the encounter begins, players will be challenged to a battle by a Team GO Rocket Grunt and if you’re able, accept the challenge and defeat them.  Once the battle is won, the Grunt will abandon their Shadow Pokémon giving players the opportunity to catch them.

Shadow Pokémon look and act strange due to the unnatural attempts made to make them stronger and this also means that they can’t be traded away by the Trainer who rescued them.  Fortunately, Blanche and Professor Willow have discovered a process called Purification that can make the Pokémon normal again and this sometimes results in them becoming stronger than their normal counterparts.

If you’re a trainer then keep an eye out for these Grunts and put an end to Team GO Rocket’s plans.
