The BBC spreads Joy to the World with Doctor Who Christmas Special 2024 trailer

The BBC has shared a trailer for this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special, ‘Joy to the World’, which sees The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) team up with Joy (Nicola Coughlan) when she accidentally opens a secret doorway to the Time Hotel, as a deadly plan unfolds across Earth pushing the Doctor into a race against time to save Christmas; watch it below…

When Joy opens a secret doorway to the Time Hotel, she discovers danger, dinosaurs and the Doctor. But a deadly plan is unfolding across the Earth, just in time for Christmas.

Where has the Doctor been? What is going on in Joy’s hotel room? An old enemy of the Doctor’s is lurking in the wings and all of human history hangs in the balance. Can the Doctor save Christmas, everywhere, all at once?

The special stars Ncuti Gatwa, Nicola Coughlan, Joel Fry, Steph de Whalley, Jonathan Aris, Julia Watson, Peter Benedict, Niamh Marie Smith, Phil Baxter, Samuel Sherpa-Moore. Ruchi Rai, Joshua Leese, Ell Potter, Liam Prince-Donnelly, and Fiona Marr.

Joy to World airs on BBC One, iPlayer and Disney+ on Christmas Day.
