The Seventh Doctor and Ace embark on a Wicked! new Doctor Who adventure

October 9, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Big Finish has released Doctor Who: The Seventh Doctor Adventures – Wicked!, a new full-cast audio box set for the Seventh Doctor and Ace. Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred created one of the most iconic pairings in Doctor Who history, and this latest box set goes back to the start of their adventures together. A short behind-the-scenes video interviewing some of the cast can be seen below…

The beginning of the Seventh Doctor and Ace’s time together is often overlooked, but this latest box set dives into Ace’s first trips through time and space in three new adventures.

In Backwards and in Heels by Alison Winter, the Doctor offers Ace a scenic journey home to Earth from Iceworld. What was expected to be an exciting trip with plenty of sightseeing turned into a surprise visit to 1920s Soho on some shady business. This first journey is not what Ace was expecting, and it has her wondering if she’s making the right choices.

The Price of Snow by Katharine Armitage takes the pair to the exclusive ski resort of Val du Cam Belle. However, there are sinister goings on, and nothing is quite what it seems to be. The Doctor and Ace have their work cut out to uncover what is happening in this winter wonderland.

Finally, in The Ingenious Gentlemen by Alan Ronald, the Doctor and Ace end up in 15th century Spain. When the duo meet up with the adventurer Don Quixote (Simon Callow), an ancient evil rears its ugly head.
