The Walking Dead comes to World War Z in new DLC

January 30, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Some of you may not have thought it would ever happen, but The Walking Dead have arrived in Saber Interactive’s hugely popular co-op zombie shooter, World War Z. This brand-new campaign episode introduces new survivors, enemies, weapon skins and more.  Watch the new trailer below…

World War Z welcomes four new survivors from the world of The Walking Dead, and players can fight through waves of zombies as Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Negan, and Michonne, with Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus providing the voices of their beloved characters.

Players can take their characters through a new story campaign that features three iconic locations, including the Prison, the Alexandria Safe Zone and the Grady Memorial Hospital, and fight against a new version of World War Z’s infamous Zeke swarms, the deadly Walkers. There’s even a new special Spiked Zeke walker, that comes with tougher defences that make it impervious to melee until they’ve been knocked prone.

For those who like their weapons, this new DLC includes two new melee weapons – Michonne’s Katana and Negan’s Bat “Lucille”. Plus, two new weapon skins will allow players to kit their character with Rick’s Revolver and Daryl’s Crossbow.

The World War Z x The Walking Dead DLC is available now for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
