The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon to end with season 4, new season 3 trailer released

July 26, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

As part of The Walking Dead panel at San Diego Comic-Con, it has been announced that Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride’s journey across Europe as Daryl and Carol is coming to an end, with the spinoff series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon set to conclude with its newly-announced fourth and final season.

After much conversation, three weeks ago, we started rolling on season 4, it will be a super-sized season,” said showrunner David Zabel. “We will make eight episodes, which is very cool… and it will really allow us to to complete the story of Daryl and Carol in Spain, and it will be very emotional and powerful. It will also complete this part of the characters’ journey, the European adventure, and so, it’s the last season of this iteration of the show. And then, what lies beyond that for these characters, we will see. I’m sure there’s plenty, and we’re always talking about it, but it’ll be the fourth and final season.”

“Season three will follow Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.”

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon sees the return of Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride who stars alongside Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Alexandra Masangkay, Candela Saitta, Hugo Arbués, Greta Fernández, Gonzalo Bouza, Hada Nieto, Yassmine Othman, Cuco Usín and Stephen Merchant.
