Tropico 6 arrives on consoles

September 27, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Kalypso Media and Limbic Entertainment have announced the release of Tropico 6 on Xbox One and Playstation 4.  Tropico 6 is available both physically and digitally in Europe and digitally in North America with the retail version arriving on 8th October.  A new launch trailer can be seen below….

El Presidente returned to gamers on PC earlier in the year and an enthusiastic community provided a wealth of feedback which allowed the developers to implement changes and rolling out new features.  All these new additions and changes will be included in the console edition of Tropico 6 providing console gamers with a richer experience from the off.

The console release of Tropico 6 has been optimised for both the Xbox One controller and Playstation’s Dualshock 4 and there has been the addition of a multiplayer feature allowing players to play cooperatively or compete, Prez v Prez, against up to three other players online.  New features for the game include a fully customisable Presidential pad and the ability to make life overwhelmingly tough for the island’s residents.

Tropico 6 continues to provide the same dark humour, sun-kissed beaches and in-depth game mechanics as previous titles in the series, making it one of the most beloved city-building games available.

Tropico 6 is available now for Xbox One and PS4 digitally and in retail stores.  On Xbox One, those who purchased the game digitally during the game preview period will gain an extra palace decoration and tourist outfits for El Presidente, whilst gamers on PS4 will be able to purchase either the standard or ‘El Prez’ editions.  The ‘El Prez’ edition providing the extra decoration for the palace and the tourist outfits.
