Two new Doctor Who audiobooks materialising this October from Penguin Random House

July 24, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Penguin Random House will be releasing two brand-new Doctor Who audio original adventures on 2nd October featuring the Fifteenth Doctor. These two new standalone adventures have been written by acclaimed authors Beth Axford and Una McCormack, and will be available on Audible, Spotify, and all other audiobook platforms.

The two new adventures arriving for the Fifteenth Doctor and Belinda are Doctor Who: Firefall and Doctor Who: Counterstrike.

Doctor Who: Firefall is a sensitive tale of outsiders needing to find home. Read by Michelle Asante, who plays Abena in The Story and the Engine and In the Forest of the Night, Firefall begins with the Doctor and Belinda floating high above the Earth enjoying the legendary Leonids meteor shower of 1833.  However, when the pair notice a larger meteor showing no sign of breaking up, they follow it to the small village of Drummondville and encounter a young girl who is hiding something extraordinary. The Doctor must find out what is happening before all life on Earth is affected.

In Doctor Who: Counterstrike, the Doctor and Belinda find themselves besieged by a swarm of drones after they land on a strange, unknown planet. Taking shelter in a cluster of hi-tech buildings, the Doctor is puzzled at the absence of life until Belinda is suddenly teleported away.  Meanwhile, three thousand light years away, project manager Hazzet gets system notifications from a probe sent to the uninhabited Colony 5. The probe has reported there are now two bases on the planet and they are both ready to attack the other. With a lifeform in each the race against mutually assured destruction begins.

Look out for these two new audiobooks arriving on Audible, Spotify and others, this October.
