Wes Craven denies rumours of being “done” with Kevin Williamson

August 5, 2014 by Luke Owen

It was reported about a week ago that the future of the Scream franchise was in jeopardy when Kevin Williamson said that director Wes Craven and his people were “done” with him. Well, it seems as though Wes Craven is far from done with Williamson.

The legendary horror filmmaker tweeted out to Williamson (using Flickering Myth’s news story no less) on the day the news story broke calling him a genius and saying that he would work with Williamson again in the drop of a hat.

I think @kevwilliamson is a genius and would work with him again at the drop of a hat. http://t.co/1ZCVDRE7eZ

Among the many tweets from fans hoping for another Scream movie, was a reply from Kevin Williamson today:

@wescraven No, you’re the genius, sir. xo

So, could we be seeing future Scream movies?

While the future of the Scream movie franchise is unsure, we know for certain that the series will be moving to the small screen via MTV, which does not have involvement from either Craven or Williamson.

Alls well that ends well. We don’t want to say that we were instrumental in getting another Scream movie being made, but… well… we did bring them back together…
