Wonder Woman solo movie to be set in the 1920s, with a World War II era sequel?

October 30, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Now that both Warner Bros. / DC and Marvel Studios have set out their stalls for the foreseeable future, we should expect to be inundated with potential plot and casting rumours for the multitude of superhero movies set to grace the big screen over the coming years. And by way of Bleeding Cool, we now have some potential details on Warner’s Wonder Woman movie, which – if there’s any truth to the report – could be adopting a period setting.

According to the site, Gal Gadot’s first solo movie will “spend the first half on Paradise Island with warring Amazon factions vying for control. An arrival of a man on the island changes that status quo, as he asks the Amazons for help. Not necessarily Steve Trevor either… Because when Wonder Woman joins him on his return to the world of Man, we all discover that it is the 1920s. And the film will then show Diana exploring that world – a world where women have only just got the vote – from her… unique perspective.”

The report goes on to state that the as-yet-unconfirmed Wonder Woman sequel would then take place during World War II, with a third movie bringing the Amazon Princess into the present day.

If this is on the money, then it looks like we’ll be getting a present day Diana in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, period Diana in Wonder Woman, present day Diana in Justice League Part One, present day Diana in Justice League Part Two, period Diana in Wonder Woman 2, and present day Diana in Wonder Woman 3.

Seems a tad ridiculous if you ask me…
