James McAvoy details a ridiculous deleted scene from X-Men: First Class

November 20, 2015 by Gary Collinson

During an interview with IGN to promote the release of his new film Victor Frankenstein, James McAvoy has detailed what would surely have been a rather horrendous scene from X-Men: First Class.

“There was actually a scene in X-Men: First Class where we come up against somebody so dumb that I can’t mind bend him,” states McAvoy. “We end up actually having to have a real deal fight with him, me and Magneto, because there’s no metal in the room either. We end up just having a fight with this guy who was seven foot six or something like that. And we kill him by shoving a bear’s head over his head. It was weird… We twisted it and broke his neck and I said something like, ‘I couldn’t bear that man.'”

McAvoy will be back as Xavier next year with the release of X-Men: Apocalypse, which sees Bryan Singer directing a cast that also includes  Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert) and Lucas Till (Havok) along with newcomers Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Apocalypse, Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan (Mud) as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp (House of Anubis) as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Nightcrawler, Ben Hardy (EastEnders) as Angel, Olivia Munn (Magic Mike) as Psylocke and newcomer Lana Condor as Jubilee.
