Wonder Woman going back for reshoots

November 5, 2016 by admin

One of the biggest stories that perhaps overshadowed Suicide Squad earlier this year was the revelation that the film went back to last-hour reshoots after the reaction to the trailer. Well, it looks like Wonder Woman could be getting the same treatment.

According to FlickReel (who Flickering Myth are friends with and trust), Wonder Woman is heading back in for reshoots in two weeks’ time. The site says, “It’s unclear yet as to whether these reshoots were pre-scheduled or have been newly planned, and we’ve not yet been able to ascertain how significant they will be, but they are happening. Unsurprisingly, reshoots will be taking place in the UK, at Leavesden, where a castle and period buildings were constructed for the original shoot.”

As the site says, these could be planned reshoots which is not uncommon with big budget movies. However, we saw from Suicide Squad and Ghostbusters just how much these last-minute reshoots can affect the final outcome of a movie. With that said, some of the best moments from Star Wars: The Force Awakens came from reshoots, and could also be the case for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

A few months ago, an open letter was written to Warner Bros. that stated Wonder Woman was a complete mess, something director Patty Jenkins denied.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman will hit cinemas on June 2nd, 2017 with a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead).
