We’ve seen absolutely nothing in the way of promotional material from 20th Century Fox’s superhero reboot The Fantastic Four, but we do now have an official synopsis for the Josh Trank-directed film, which has made its way online via Rotten Tomatoes. The Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

The Fantastic Four is set for release on August 7th 2015, with Josh Trank (Chronicle) directing a cast that includes Miles Teller (Whiplash) as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara (American Horror Story) as the Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan (Fruitville Station) as the Human Torch, Jamie Bell (Nymphomaniac) as The Thing, Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as “Doom”, Reg E. Cathey (The Wire) as Dr. Storm, and Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk) as Harvey Elder.
