Agent Carter Season 1 Episode 6 Review – ‘A Sin to Err’

Amy Richau reviews the sixth episode of Agent Carter…

There has a been a lot of build-up and character development up to this point in Marvel’s Agent Carter. Some of it has been interesting, other parts have been a bit boring. But there’s nothing boring about the most recent episode of Agent Carter “A Sin to Err”.

After weeks of mysterious typewriters and scary stories about Leviathan we finally get to see one, make that two, of their agents in action this episode. The first of course is Dottie AKA I might be blonde with a kooky smile, but I can kill you in 12 ways in under 30 seconds without smudging my perfect lipstick. If assassins can be described as entertaining, Dottie certainly delivers.

The episode begins showing Dottie and a senior Leviathan agent killing off a new Leviathan recruit who asks to be excused. Dottie isn’t very subtle in her actions in this scene, nor in a later scene in a creepy dentist’s office which leads to one of the best reveals of the show so far.

Dottie gets her mission in “A Sin to Err” – kill Peggy Carter. SSR Agent Sousa also get further confirmation (did he really need more confirmation!?!) that the blonde woman in the photo is in fact his co-worker Agent Carter. So while Peggy and Jarvis attempt to run down Stark’s ex-lovers to look for wrist scars (it all makes sense when you watch the episode, I promise) the SSR and Dottie are both on the hunt for Peggy.

Peggy ends up risking her freedom to recover Steve Roger’s blood in her apartment and almost loses her life when she runs right into Dottie – who again really has a way with her job. But before Agent Carter is taken in for questioning by her co-workers, we are treated to a wonderful fight scene with Carter and Jarvis in an coin-operated Automat.

Agent Carter has set the wheels in full motion to deliver a (hopefully) satisfying conclusion to the Leviathan storyline in its last two episodes. I hope that Peggy and Jarvis both find a lot of screen time together and can patch up their highly enjoyable working relationship along the way.
