According to The Tracking Board, Paramount Pictures is moving forward with its plans for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 2, having enlisted acclaimed French filmmaker and artist Bruno Aveillan to direct.
Aveillian will replace the outgoing Tommy Wirkola, and the site reports that he will be working on a new take on the sequel, witht he search currently underway for a screenwriter to rework Wirkola’s screenplay, which has also had work from Michael Finch (Hitman: Agent 47).
As yet, there’s no word on a potential release date for Hansel & Gretel 2, but both Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton are set to reprise their roles as the witch-hunting siblings.
