Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck discuss the issues between Batman and Superman in Dawn of Justice

October 23, 2015 by Gary Collinson

During an interview with Total Film for the latest issue of the magazine, both Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck have been discussing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, offering a couple of tidbits of information about The Dark Knight’s motivation in the upcoming superhero blockbuster, and the reason for his issues with the Man of Steel.

“What happens there is one of Bruce’s buildings gets destroyed and he’s trying to save all the people inside the building and he can’t,” states Cavill, with regards to a “prologue” sequence glimpsed in the trailer which shows the battle between Superman and Zod from the point of view of Bruce Wayne. “So he is this angry person who fears what Superman may do. Why are they just going to trust this super-powered alien? What if he does decide to turn against us?”

“He’s found himself in a place of harboring a tremendous amount of rage for Superman,” Affleck continues. “So it’s how he got there, and what that’s done to him, and what that’s done to people around him like Alfred, who are, I think, very scared and worried for him. It’s something that’s interesting and new.”
