Well, here’s some rather surprising news. According to Deadline, Mariah Carey is in talks with Warner Bros. about joining the cast of The LEGO Movie spinoff The LEGO Batman Movie, where she’d lend her voice to the character of Commissioner Gordon (who’ll presumably be gender-swapped).
UPDATE: According to THR, Carey is actually in talks to play the Mayor of Gotham City as opposed to Commissioner Gordon.
The LEGO Batman Movie is being directed by Chris McKay, and sees Will Arnett reprising the role of the Caped Crusader from The LEGO Movie, alongside Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker.
The LEGO Batman Movie is set for release on February 10th, 2017.
