Terminal cancer patient asks J.J. Abrams to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens early as his dying wish

November 2, 2015 by admin

Cancer sucks, we just wanted to put that out there.

Remember a couple of years ago when a terminal cancer patient asked J.J. Abrams to see an early cut of Star Trek Into Darkness as his dying wish? Well this chap is trying the same tactic, only this time with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“Judging by how progressive the disease has gotten in the past two months, I really don’t think that I’ll be able to make it,” Daniel Fleetwood told his local news station, while making his plea to Abrams and Disney.

“It’s a commitment and he still has that commitment, that drive, and that love and I think that it’s a beautiful thing,” said Fleetwood’s wife, Ashley. “Even if it’s just a movie. That’s magic for a lot of people.”

Fleetwood admits that he thinks this is a long shot, but he hopes that his video goes viral enough that the folk over at Disney and Lucasfilm will take notice and allow him the screening. He also says that he’d expect Disney execs to be in the room with him, but he doesn’t care.

Good luck Daniel.
