More rumours about the X-Men joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe

June 27, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Ever since the surprise announcement that Sony and Marvel Studios had reached a deal to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s been frequent rumours suggesting a similar deal with Fox, which would allow the X-Men to join up with The Avengers on the big screen.

Well, another rumour is doing the rounds which suggests that Fox may be considering the prospect – at least according to Matt Key, a producer on Kevin Smith’s Fatman-On-Batman Podcast.

“I’ve heard from a few of my sources, my little birds that Fox and Marvel have kind of talked, but not really, but like there’s interest from Fox, like, ‘Ooh, y’know, what they did with Sony and Spider-Man is actually pretty cool, like, maybe…” Key tells Collider Heroes. “We’re years away from that ever possibly happening. But I think that’s what it would take … Fox joining hands with Marvel.”

Sounds like a lot of speculation and little fact in my opinion, but it’s sure to excite anyone who’d like to see all of the Marvel properties under the same roof. Although, for this to happen, we’d surely have to see a reboot to both properties, right?
