American actor Migiel Ferrer has passed away aged 61 after losing his fight with cancer, Deadline is reporting.

The son of Oscar-winning actor Jose Ferrer and singer Rosemary Clooney, Ferrer began his career in the early 1980s with minor roles in TV shows and films such as Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, before his memorable turn in 1987’s RoboCop, where he played OCP executive Bob Morton.

Ferrer also enjoyed a number of comic book-related roles throughout his career, playing the Weather Wizard in the 1997 TV pilot Justice League of America and the Vice President in Iron Man 3, as well as lending his voice to Superman: The Animated Series, The Batman, Justice League: The New Frontier, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Young Justice.

Earlier this evening, he was also announced as voicing Deathstroke in the upcoming Teen Titans: The Judas Contract., and is also expected to feature in the new series of Twin Peaks, reprising the role of Special Agent Albert Rosenfeld.
