D.J. Caruso in talks to direct G.I. Joe 3

January 13, 2015 by Thomas Roach

Paramount Pictures may have found a replacement for Jon M. Chu on G.I. Joe 3, with The Hollywood Reporter. revealing that D.J. Caruso is in talks to direct the film.

Caruso is best know for directing Eagle Eye and I am Number Four, and has done his fair share of action so he would seem to be an appropriate choice for the Joes’ third outing. Recently Martin Campbell (GoldenEye) was also rumoured to be in talks to direct.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation grossed $375.7 million worldwide back in 2013, while 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which was directed by Stephen Sommers, made $302.5 million.

As of yet Paramount has not revealed a release date for the film, or any official casting news, although Dwayne Johnson is expected to return as Roadblock.
