Christopher McQuarrie denies report that Paramount wants to reshoot Mission: Impossible 5 finale

February 21, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Yesterday it was reported by THR that production had been shut down on Mission: Impossible 5 in order to provide time for director Christopher McQuarrie to come up with a “new and improved finale” for the latest chapter of the blockbuster spy series.

According to the initial report, Paramount executives were disappointed with the ending to the film and were demanding reshoots to the finale. Well, it seems that might not be the case after all, as McQuarrie has now taken to Twitter to debunk the story, stating that filming had never wrapped, and the plan was to take “a short break to prep the finale properly”.

Mission: Impossible 5 is set for release on July 31st, with Tom Cruise in joined by fellow franchise veterans eremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames and new additions Rebecca Ferguson (Hercules), Sean Harris (Prometheus) and Alec Baldwin (Still Alice).
