Bill & Ted 3 is “really close” says Alex Winter

March 16, 2015 by admin

It’s been a long time coming, but we could be closer to seeing a third Bill & Ted movie than we think according to original star Alex Winter.

“We’re really close. We’re just about there”, Winter told Yahoo! Movie News. “In Hollywood parlance, [that] means we’ll either be shooting soon or it’s never going to happen.”

“We’re trying to get the movie made, so how could we be sick of it?” he said when asked if he was tired of being asked about the long-gestating project. “We’re producing it and we’re actively trying to get it made. We’re not tired of it, but I think for our fans, we are eager to stop talking and actually shoot the damn thing.”

With Zoolander 2 and Mallrats 2 being announced and Ghostbusters 3 still on the cards, could it be likely we’ll see Bill & Ted back on the big screen soon?

Bill & Ted first rose to popularity in 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and the pair returned to the silver screen for the sequel Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey in 1991. They also had an animated series which ran from 1990 – 1991 named Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures with Winters and Reeves (along with George Carlin) reprising their roles and recently just started a new comic series Bill & Ted’s Triumphant Return.
