Laura Dern set to star in McDonald’s drama The Founder

May 14, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

The Hollywood Reporter has exclusive news this evening with word of that Oscar nominee Laura Dern (Wild) is in talks to join The Founder, the new drama which tells the story of the rise of McDonald’s and its vast food empire.

Fellow Oscar nominee Michael Keaton (Birdman) stars in the film as Ray Kroc, the man who joined forces with Mac and Dick McDonald and their speedy burger operation in South Carolina, before taking over the company and turning it into the huge billion-dollar empire it is today. Dern would play Kroc’s first wife, Ethel.

John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) is directing the film from a script by Robert Siegel (The Wrestler), and it is set for release by The Weinstein Company in November 2016.
