Disney adapting Fantasia sequence Night on Bald Mountain into live-action movie

June 5, 2015 by Gary Collinson

The Walt Disney Company is delving deeper into its animated back catalogue for another live-action movie, this time based upon the ‘Night of the Bald Mountain’ segment from the studio’s 1940 animated classic Fantasia.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Dracula Untold) will script and executive produce the project, which revolves around a winged creature who raises spirits from the dead.

Disney has several live-action adaptations of its animated offerings in the works, including Beauty and the Beast, Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Jungle Book, Mulan, Dumbo and Tink.
