Working Title looking to shoot Bridget Jones 3 this year

June 28, 2015 by Gary Collinson

According to The Daily Mail, Working Title Films is hoping to shoot the third movie in the Bridget Jones series this year, with Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth said to be in talks to reprise their roles from the first two movies.

“We are keen to try to make it later this year, but there’s still nothing definite yet,” states Eric Fellner of Working Title. “If the script and all our deals with the actors fall into place, then this one will be up and running.”

The third movie, entitled Bridget Jones’s Baby, has been written by author Helen Fielding, and Sharon Maguire – who helmed the 2001 original – is said to be back in the director’s chair. However, Hugh Grant has already opted against a return as Daniel Cleaver, with his character said to be absent from the script.
