Vixen Varisty is reporting that Megalyn Echikunwoke (The 4400, CSI: Miami) is set to voice the title character of Mari MacCabe in CW Seed’s upcoming animated series Vixen, which takes place the same universe as The CW’s other DC superhero shows Arrow and The Flash.
Earlier this week, it was announced that fans attending SDCC will get a first look sneak peek at the series, which will also see Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen/Arrow), Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash), Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) and Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon) reprising their roles from the live-action series.
Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe’s parents were killed by local greed, corruption, and wanton violence. But the orphaned Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inheriting her family’s Tantu Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals-anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from threats like those that claimed her family.
