Michael Chiklis heading to Gotham for season 2

July 22, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

The Shield star Michael Chiklis is heading back to television, with word from TVLine that the actor is to join the cast of Gotham for the second season.

Chiklis, who many cinemagoers will know as The Thing from the original two Fantastic Four films, has joined the cast of the Batman prequel show as a Gotham Police Captain called Nathaniel Barnes, who is described as follows:

“[Barnes] lands on the GCPD like a tornado….ripping out the dead wood of Gotham’s police force. He is a law and order zealot; unafraid of making enemies – on either side of the law. For Gordon, Barnes is a hero and a mentor, someone with whom he can share the burden of heroism. Captain Barnes proves himself to be a strong ally to Gordon… but one day he will make an equally powerful enemy.”
