James Foley frontrunner to direct Fifty Shades Darker

August 20, 2015 by Gary Collinson

With Sam Taylor-Johnson opting against a return for the sequel to this year’s Fifty Shades of Grey, it seems that Universal Pictures has identified her replacement for 2017’s Fifty Shades Darker.

According to Deadline, James Foley has emerged as frontrunner, although he’s yet to receive an official offer. Foley’s previous credits include the likes of Reckless, Fear and Glengarry Glen Ross, along with Netflix’s House of Cards.

Fifty Shades Darker is set for release on February 14th 2017, with Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson both reprising their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
