Paramount bringing back 90s Nickelodeon characters for Justice League/Avengers-style team-up movie

September 6, 2015 by Gary Collinson

According to The Tracking Board, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon are set to reboot a host of beloved 90s characters for a live-action/animated hybrid movie which is being picthed as a “Justice League or Avengers‘-esque team-up” feature called Nicktoons.

The site reports that the movie will follow in the footsteps of the likes of The LEGO Movie, Space Jam and Wreck-It Ralph with a large dose of self-referential humour and charm, and will reportedly feature characters for the Nickelodeon cartoons Rugrats, Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold!, Rocko’s Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy and more.

Paramount is currently in discussion with potential writers for the project, while Mary Parent (The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water) and Cale Boyter (Elf) will serve as producers.
