Anthony Mackie really doesn’t like Man of Steel

October 28, 2015 by admin

With Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War being released the same year as DC’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the raging war of Marvel vs. DC is set to kick off once again. But one of Captain America: Civil War‘s stars, Anthony Mackie, doesn’t appear to be a fan of DC and Man of Steel in particular.

Below is the transcrip of an interview Mackie did with Collider’s Frosty on the promotional tour for Our Brand is Crisis:

Frosty: I already know the answer to this, but DC or Marvel?
Anthony Mackie: What was the last good DC movie that you saw?
Frosty: Uh…
Anthony Mackie: Exactly, Marvel!
Frosty: I was going to say Man of Steel. I love Man of Steel!
Anthony Mackie: You’re bananas!
Frosty: No, I love Man of Steel.
Anthony Mackie: You’re bananas!
Frosty: I fucking love the movie.
Anthony Mackie: You should just email everybody you know and ask them what they thought of the movie.
Frosty: I know a lot of people don’t care for it. I know that, but Hans Zimmer’s score, the opening 20 minutes is fucking amazing on Krypton…
Anthony Mackie: But there’s another 3 hours of the movie after that!
Frosty: I will defend that movie forever!
Anthony Mackie: So, you’re saying it should have been a short.
Frosty: I’m saying to you that I could watch that movie on loop. I love it so much!
Anthony Mackie: Wow! That scares me that you are reviewing movies.
Frosty: I don’t review movies anymore…
Anthony Mackie: Oh, good. We’re saved! We’re saved! Alright!
Frosty: By the way, I love the Marvel universe, and Civil War… I can’t wait for it!
Anthony Mackie: No-no-no don’t say it’s good. Because that means if you say it’s good, its awful. You have awful taste!

So, Anthony Mackie wasn’t a fan of Man of Steel either.

Big thanks to ComicBook for the transcription.
