Dave Bautista hints at Blade Runner 2 role

April 3, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this week it was announced that Robin Wright has joined the cast of the upcoming Blade Runner sequel, and now Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Spectre) has taken to social media to hint at his own involvement in the movie. The former WWE star posted the following image of himself with an origami unicorn, a reference to the 1982 original movie, complete with the caption “I can’t wait to share some really exciting news…”

Bautista is currently shooting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and has several movies on the horizon, including Kickboxer: Vengeance, Mauraders, Warrior’s Gate and The Boss.

Blade Runner 2 will be directed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario), with Harrison Ford returning as Rick Deckard alongside Ryan Gosling in an as-yet-unrevealed role. Ridley Scott, who directed the original, will serve as executive producer and has created the story with Hampton Fancher, co-writer of the first movie.
