Tom Cruise says Mission: Impossible 6 will shoot in the fall, promises more “incredible set pieces and stunts”

April 12, 2016 by Gary Collinson

With CinemaCon 2016 taking place in the States, Tom Cruise made an appearance via taped message to introduce some footage from the currently-in-production Jack Reacher: Never Back Down, but he also took the opportunity to provide an update on another of his upcoming sequels, the as-yet-untitled Mission: Impossible 6.

Cruise revealed that filming on the latest instalment in the spy series is set to get underway in the Fall, as well as promising that there will be “more incredible set pieces, stunts…and what I think is a very entertaining and compelling story.”

Mission: Impossible 6 will reunite Cruise with Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie and co-star Rebecca Ferguson, marking the first time that a filmmaker and leading lady have returned for a second outing in the series.

As yet, there’s no word on a release date for M:I 6, but summer 2017 looks to be a good bet.
