UPDATE: Katie McGrath to play Lena Luthor in Supergirl

Lex Luthor’s little sister is coming to National City, with TV Line reporting that Katie McGrath (Merlin, Jurassic World) has secured the role of Lena Luthor in Supergirl season two.

The character description for the recurring characters reads: “Beautiful, powerful, and enigmatic, Lena arrives in National City on the heels of brother Lex’s incarceration hoping for a fresh start. Lena has taken over as LenaLuthorCEO of her family’s billion-dollar-tech company, Luthor Corp, which has been tarnished by Lex’s evil infamy. Her goal? To re-brand the empire as a force for good. Lena wants to be seen as her own person, separate from her brother. Kara is drawn into Lena’s sphere and must determine if she is friend or foe.”

Season two of Supergirl is set to premiere on October 10th, with other new additions including Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer,Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr, Lynda Carter as the President of the United States. and Chris Wood as an as-yet-unrevealed DC character.
