Step Up All In helmer Trish Sie to direct Pitch Perfect 3

September 5, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in June it was revealed that Elizabeth Banks had vacated the director’s chair on Pitch Perfect 3 citing parental responsibilities following a shift in the sequel’s schedule, and now after a lengthy search, Universal and Gold Circle have found her replacement.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Step Up All In helmer Trish Sie has signed on to the project after Jason Moore, director of the first Pitch Perfect, passed on the opportunity. Although Sie only has the one feature film credit to her name, she is an experienced choreographer and has also directed music videos for OK Go, including the recent ‘Upside Down & Inside Out’.

Pitch Perfect 3 is set for release on December 22nd 2017, and will see the return of Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow and Hailee Steinfeld. Despite passing on directing, Elizabeth Banks is also expected to be back as part of the cast.
