Revenge and Captain America star Emily VanCamp has signed on for the lead role in The Resident, a new medical drama pilot from FOX, which has been written by Amy Holden Jones, Haley Schore and Roshan Sethi.
The Wrap reports that the series will follow an idealistic young doctor (Matt Czuchry; The Good Wife) as he begins his first day under the supervision of a tough, brilliant senior resident who pulls the curtain back on all of the good and evil in modern day medicine. Lives may be saved or lost, but expectations will always be shattered.”
VanCamp is set to play Nicolette, a.k.a. Nic, who is described as an “attractive nurse who is Conrad’s (Czuchry) on-again-off-again romantic fling. Also featuring in the pilot are Shaunette Renee Wilson (Billions), Manish Dayal (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek).
